A otra india la cogió esta voz a diez leguas de adonde estaban los Padres, de donde se despachó; y posponiendo la dificultad de las punas y cerros y el de dejar su casa y preparándose algunos días para la confesión, se halló que había diez años que era idólatra, adorando al sol, luna y estrellas, y ofreciendo sacrificios de animales para sí y para otra india, su parienta, a quien había nacido un hijo de pies, y consultó un hechicero, el cual dijo era la criatura hijo de Santiago, que así llaman al rayo, y le ofrecieron la criatura, sacrificando dos animales, haciendo sus ceremonias antiguas. Esta pobre india estuvo muchos años mal amistada con un indio y mató tres criaturas por orden del hechicero, y finalmente la tenía el demonio tan a su mano que siempre que se confesaba la ponía grandes temores y hacía encubriese estos pecados. Vino la luz del Señor y diole dolor y lágrimas y tiempo para confesarse generalmente y, pidiendo una disciplina y rosario con deseo de enmendarse, se volvió a su pueblo. Bendición al Señor qui dedit potestatem talem hominibus.

Tenía el demonio infeccionado todo este distrito con quatro guacas llamadas Mallofiaja, Pito, la Gran Xurimana, Cacyamarca sin otras muchas y manantiales etc, reverenciando a muchos y diferentes ídolos y lugares señalados por alteza, como paresiera por estos exemplos: una pobre alma adoró una destas guacas treinta vezes, sacrificando cinco animales, ofreciendo por una necessidad que tenía cebo mollo saa, y finalmente por medio de un hechizero dio tanbién un hijo suyo recién nacido y antes de ser christiano le puso un tiesto con unos huesos y se lo entregó al hechizero para que la primera vista deste mundo y la entrada en él fuesse ofrecerle al demonio; lo qual se hiso por él diziendo iva en lugar de su padre, y a este desventurado, por quemársele la casa, persuadió el hechizero sacrificase al demonio una llama, que es carnero de la tierra, con las cenizas de su cassa lo qual hizo; mas el indio, compungido de su peccado y hiriéndose los pechos, pidió misericordia y afeándole la gran ofensa que a Dios avía hecho y lo que le convenía hazer penitencia para aplacar su ira con voluntad y deseo de su salvación, la hizo, y por este medio se reconcilió con su criador, dándosele un rosario, imagen y diciplina con que satisfaciese por sus culpas y Nuestro Señor le recibió como padre, según piadosamente se puede entender lo hizo con otro que, aviendo adorado el sol y la luna, pidiendo le guardase en cada mes en paz y en salvo, ofreciendo al demonio cuis, piedras a su modo.
